Floyd "Red Crow" Westerman

"There is an ancient Indian saying that something lives only as long as the last person who remembers it. My people have come to trust memory over history. Memory, like fire, is radiant and immutable while history serves only those who seek to control it, those who douse the flame of memory in order to put out the dangerous fire of truth. Beware these men for they are dangerous themselves and unwise. Their false history is written in the blood of those who might remember and of those who seek the truth." -spoken by Floyd Westerman

Ray Man - Guru Gobind Singh Ji

RAMKALI OF THE TENTH KING
O Mind ! the Yoga be practised in this way :
Consider the Truth as the horn, sincerity the necklace and meditation as ashes to be applied to your body…...Pause.
Make self-control your lyre and the prop of the Name as your alms,
Then the supreme essence will be played like the main string creating savoury divine music.1.
The wave of colourful tune will arise, manifesting the song of knowledge,
The gods, demons and sages would be amazed enjoying their ride in heavenly chariots.2.
While instructing the self in the garb of self-restraint and reciting God`s Name inwardly,
The body will always remain like gold and become immortal.3.2.

Maggi Jorh Mela

In memory of the Shaheed Singhs, Maggi Mela, the Beloved army of the Guru reads the Adi Guru, Dasam, and Sarbloh Granths in preparation for the Horse riding, and Shastarvidiya.

The horses in the Dal are taught to Mathha Tekh the Parkash of Guru Ji. The Parkash is placed in a Coach, and is always on the move.

Baba Hari Singh and Baba Jagir Singh look at some new shastar made by the blacksmith of the Buddha Dal. Before the Jorrh Mela. May we remember each day the names of the Shahid Singhs, through whose sacrifice we wear bana, and read bani today. Pranam Shahida Nu!

The moment is all we have

If we think about it, we only have this moment. The memories of the past, and plans of the future come and go, but ultimately we only have now. The truth of this moment, is all there is.

By living in the moment, events unfold infront of you, and each one presents itself as a gift. It is only our clinging to the past and our over eagerness to jump into the future that stops us from experiencing this moment.

Submitted to this blog by a concerned Sikh

Wahe Guru Ji Ka Khalsa
Wahe Guru Ji Ki Fateh

A cornerstone of Sikhi is preservation of Human dignity and Human
Rights, yet, as the ethnic cleansing escalates right in front of our
eyes by the barbaric actions of Israel supported by USA, UK and Europe
against its neighbour has become little more than the latest
entertainment as "reality TV".

If there is anyone on this earth that understands religious and ethnic
cleansing, its the Sikhs, yet as ever we can become very vocal and
even take arms against someone using chairs in a Gurdwara but in the
face of such blatant massacre of children, woman and innocent people,
there is not one single voice! And we wish to celebrate Guru Gobind
Singh's Birthday today? How do you mark the day of a man who's four
children, mother and father were martyred fighting against such
inhumane and barbaric slaughter? Where is the Khalsa in the face of
such heinous crimes?

Bad things happen because good people turn away.

Collective consciousness has the power to bring about great and
profound changes, I humbly beg my cyber brothers and sisters to
collectively do an ardas to ease the suffering of these helpless
victims and to bring peace to the region.

This is not about Hamas or any other group, its about human rights,
today, now! There can be no better way to acknowledge our father Guru
Gobind Singh then to stand up for what he stood for!

Now I will narrate my own story - Guru Gobind Singh Ji

http://www.sridasam.org/dasam?Action=Page&p=132&english=t&id=68278

CHAUPAI

Now I relate my own story as to how I was brought here, while I was absorbed in deep meditation.

The site was the mountain named Hemkunt, with seven peaks and looks there very impressive.1.

That mountain is called Sapt Shring (seven-peaked mountain), where the Pandavas Practised Yoga.

There I was absorbed in deep meditation on the Primal Power, the Supreme KAL.2.

In this way, my meditation reached its zenith and I became One with the Omnipotent Lord.

My parents also meditated for the union with the Incomprehensible Lord and performed many types of disciplines for union.3.

The service that they rendered the Incomprehensible Lord, caused the pleasure of the Supreme Guru (i.e. Lord).

When the Lord ordered me, I was born in this Iron age.4.

I had no desire to come, because I was totally absorbed in devotion for the Holy feet of the Lord.

But the Lord made me understand His Will and sent me in this world with the following words.5.

The seed and the tree

A tiny seed, has the potential to become the huge tree. It is like the tree is hidden in the seed. The tree produces more seeds, and the process continues...............................when the potential of seed is actived it slowly becomes a tree......it is fair to say the tree was always there.

The Origins of the Farla

The 'Pharla' In his book 'Guru Keeyaan Saakheeyaan', Swaroop Singh Kaushish gives a 'Sakhi', according to which, in Samvat 1760 Bikrami, King Ajmer Chand attacked Sri Anandpur Sahib Ji. Sikh warrior Bhai Maan Singh pitched the flag in the battlefield and fought with force. He was wounded during the ensuing battle during which the Sikh flag was broken by the enemies and fell down. A Sikh relayed this occurrence to Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Guru Ji immediately made a 'Pharara' from blue 'keski' (small turban) and said, "Henceforth, this Khalsa flag will never be broken". The 'Sakhi' given by 'Guru Keeyaan Saakheeyaan' says that 'Pharara' was drawn from the small blue turbans of Bhai Uday Singh, Himmat Singh, Sahib Singh, Mohkam Singh and Aalam Singh Ji. Sahibzada Fateh Singh Ji, who was six year old, also kept a 'Pharara'. Guru Ji smiled and said, "Son! This 'Akali Pharara' will remain in the 'Panth' forever. This is the dress of Sri Mahakaal. Respect it equally to the flag". Thus, the book 'Guru Keeyaan Saakheeyaan' claims that the tradition of 'Pharla' was started by Guru Gobind Singh Ji himself.
